Needlepoint Kits

This page explains how to choose a needlepoint kit.

We may divide kits into three different price categories:
  • Inexpensive
  • Normal
  • Expensive

Needlepoint Kits

If you are a beginner who wants to try this art - choose a middle - normal priced small kit to begin with.

The inexpensive kits are usually plastic canvas - poor quality fibers - not wool and a simple design mass printed onto the canvases.

The expensive kits are priced fairly - as they are usually hand painted canvases (very often stitch painted) - premium quality fibers and canvas. These kits are more expensive because the designers put a great amount of time and details into the preparations of each kit - making your experience seamless and an absolute pleasure.

Small Needlepoint Kits

We recommend a small kit to try first. The kits are anywhere from 5 holes per inch to 22 holes per inch.

Sorry - due to the Search Engines - and others - hotlinking directly to our images - and proliferating Copyright Infringements - we are removing all large images from these blogspots. Please visit -  JAN VOICH DESIGNS - to view the large images.

Choose a relaxing 10 to 12 holes per inch canvas to begin. Preferably mono deluxe or Interlock Canvases - always from Zweigart for these kits.

A kit 5 x 5 inches would take an experienced stitcher 6 to 7 hours to completely stitch - a 16 inch square design - around 80 hours.

The kits shown above measure 3.5 x 5 inches - come with a graph on the front and instructions with diagrams are on the backside. The contents are seen below.
