We recommend finishing your project by inserting the stitched canvases into a fabric frame - which will measure 20 inches square - or larger - should you want.
The fabric used is a raw silk tapestry material - not as strong as velvet - yet we enjoy the light feel.
The examples on this page also avoid tassels and balls on the pillows and cushions edges - making the finished needlework fit into modern decorations.
Needlepoint Pillow Kits
The larger stitched needlework on this page is actually 13.5 x 15 inches - and the mat around - extends it to the 20 square inches (50 square cm.). The sampler needlepoint pillow is 15.5 square with a 3 inch mat around.
The smaller cushion below - measures twelve inches square (30 square cm.) when finished - the stitched design is 5 x 5.5 inches.
Of course, these dimensions may be larger or smaller. You decide - then make a pattern.
To make your pattern - just take a large piece of light weight pattern (tissue) paper - pencil in the exact size of the finished needlepoint in the exact center - then add a 3/4 inch around the pattern - for the seams.
